Today I started my day off by watching the Kansas City flag football team play its second pool play game. Tomorrow is their last day of pool play. Today, they got to go have fun at Walt Disney World after they competed.

It was busy at Healthy Athletes today, almost half of Team Missouri showed up today. Nearly all of the Kansas City Flag Football team needed glasses, and we had five athletes that are getting new hearing aids. We had one that they found a whole in his ear drum. Some athletes got insoles with arch support to help them with their feet, like myself. I was told to get a certain brand of shoe that would help me with my feet. They said I was flat footed, but I still had a little arch. Fortunately, they told me how to fix the problem. Also, a few unified partners got sunglasses from opening eyes.

I heard that we had two unified partners get new sets of hearing aids. I also got to talk to one of the owners of Starkey’s hearing aids. They liked my story about getting my first set of hearing aids from them and want me to come go through Healthy Hearing in the morning.

Last but not least, I got to see a few more old friends I have not got to see in a long time today, Laurie Shadoan and Kayla Cornell. I am really having fun and enjoying my job as the health and wellness messenger.
