Important things to know:




When you arrive, whatever day that is, all coaches must go through Registration located at College Avenue Hall before going to your venues. This will be the only place to register.

Coach Meetings:
Coaches' meetings will take place 30 minutes before the start of each event at each venue everyday.

Paperwork needed:

 • Meal counts
UPDATED INFO: Tuesday night meals will only be served at the Track and Bowling Venues. There will be no meals served at the dining halls.

• Room needs.
Make sure your Area Director knows what nights you will be staying over.

• Chaperone list with the names of those that will be coming with you, and your bus driver’s names.


Meal News Update: If you have athletes who are competing on Tuesday and other teammates (not competing) who have traveled with you, all athletes may be included in the meal count.  Additionally, if you have athletes competing in basketball on Friday and other teammates (not competing) are traveling with you, all athletes may be included in the meal count. Both of these are an update to previous communication. You need to verify on your meal count if you will get these additional dinners at bowling or track & field.

To get Summer Games updates sent to your phone, text Follow SOMOBrief to 40404 to receive live updates during Summer Games. These will include any changes to the schedule, lunch announcements or emergency communications.   

If you are spending the night on campus you will need to bring bedding with you for the dorm rooms. There will be two sets of keys per room issued to the coach.  If any keys for your group are lost, there will be a $15 charge per key lost. If you are not staying on campus or need hotels for fans, visit for suggested hotel rooms with discounted rates.

• If you will be staying in Lathrop, Jones, or Laws Residence Halls you park in WG 6 parking which is south of those dorms. • Those staying in any other dorms will use the CG 1 parking lot.
• Fans and parents can park in lots CG 1 on campus or RP 10 at the track, or use the west side of the parking lot at the bowling alley.
•  Shuttles will loop the campus and transport to bowling and volleyball.  

Bowling information:
For ALL bowlers, please send us their shoe size, unless they have their own bowling shoes. We plan to have each bowler’s shoes at the lane they are assigned prior to each round of bowling.  Email for questions:

All Bowlers that bowl on Wednesday, May 30 may bring their bowling balls to the bowling alley on Tuesday, May 29 and check them in. We will place them on their assigned lanes, as well.

Powerlifting information needed:
We would like to have a bio on each Powerlifter. A few things to include: name, hometown, weight, age, personal bests for each lift, favorite athlete, favorite team, number years involved in Special Olympics, etc. Email for more information:  

Random things to know:

 • Visit for all maps and details about the State Summer Games.  

• Bring copies of all current physicals for your athletes with you!

• Also please bring photo ID’s of your athletes which have one.

 • We will be basing our selection for National Games off of this years (2012) Summer Games.

• The cost to attend Summer Games is as follows per athlete:  If you plan on spending the night the price is $50, if you will not be spending any nights the cost is $25. 

• Smoking will only be allowed in the parking lots.

• Bring towels and blankets to Opening Ceremonies if you'd like to sit on them.  The theme of the night is "Let the Good Times Roll". Don't miss it!

• Boone Hospital will offer free health screenings for coaches only. Get your BMI, glucose and cholesterol checked. Watch for more details.
