Training for Life Campus Weekly Events and Classes: October 17-20

Last week was another great week of Training for Life Campus events! Be sure to attend our last week of October events. Check out our music classes, open gym and workout classes!

The following events are happening this week:

KC Metro Unified Volleyball Intramural League: Tuesday, October 17

Shoutout to UMKC for hosting the first KC Metro Unified Volleyball Intramural League of the season! We had so much fun!

South Callaway Local Track Meet: Thursday, October 19

South Callaway High School hosted this local track meet in Mokane on Thursday. Amazing job to all the athletes who competed!

Franklin County Local Bowling Tournament: Thursday, October 19

Oasis Lanes hosted this bowling tournament in Union on Thursday. Great job to all the athletes who participated!

Unified Flag Football: Thursday, October 19 and Friday, October 20

Several local schools from across Mid-Missouri came together to compete in Unified flag football at the Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) Training for Life Campus, Oct. 19-20, 2023.

Denim & Diamonds Ladies Night Out: Thursday, October 19

Last Thursday, The Training for Life Campus hosted another successful Denim & Diamonds Ladies Night Out! Around 150 participants came out to raise a total of $11,309 for our SOMO athletes! Thank you so much to everyone who helped make this event possible!

KC Metro Young Athletes Program: Friday, October 20

Shout-out to SOAR Baseball for partnering with SOMO to host our 3-week Fall YAP! This is a FREE 3-week Program for children with and without intellectual disabilities between the ages of 2-7. Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills like running, kicking, and throwing. The Young Athletes Program offers families, teachers, caregivers, and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children. Each session will run from 5:30-6:15 p.m. Siblings are ENCOURAGED to participate!
