SOMO Sum ups (Oct. 14th – Oct. 19th)
Another incredible week of Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) highlights! Take a look at what’s been happening below!
KC Metro (Area) – Culver’s Dine In (Oct 14): The KC Squad raised over $1,400 at Culver’s! The funds will purchase their uniforms for their upcoming competition at Liberty North HS!
- Chipotle (Oct 14): USA Games Bocce athletes raised over $400 at their Chipotle fundraiser! The funds will help those USA Games athletes attend USA Games!
- UMKC Flag Football (Oct 14): We wrapped up our 5-Week Unified Flag Football League with UMKC yesterday!
Now onto Pickleball!
- Train 4 Life (Oct 14): Week 6 was a wrap at Upward Performance & Physical Therapy!
- Cover the Cruiser Blue Springs Dept. of Public Safety (Oct 17): The Blue Springs DSS hosted a Cover the Cruiser at the Blue Springs HS & Blue Springs South HS football game! They raised over $600!
- Chiefs Game (Oct 19): Volunteers worked the Chiefs game versus the Raiders! Lots of bags were handed out!
Central (Area) – The Central Area had an awesome time at State Outdoor Games in Springfield! We had awesome representations in all sports and opening ceremonies! It was so great getting to see everyone!
Southeast (Area) – The Southeast Area received a donation check in the amount of $5200 in honor of the Gene Davenport memorial golf Tournament.
This was the second year they have selected Special Olympics as their partner. Their total contributions are in the amount of $11,800. Many thanks to Ellen and Adam Schwoebel for all their work in making this event a huge success!
