Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events from November 19-25, 2024!
Chiefs Cheerleader “Meet & Greet”: Tuesday, November 19
On November 19, SOMO Cheer and Dance teams had the exciting opportunity to meet Chiefs Cheerleaders at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. Our Belton School District and Lee’s Summit School District Cheer teams loved meeting the Chiefs Cheerleaders and even got to perform a dance! It was such a sweet and memorable evening.
Chicken ‘n Pickle Giveback Night: Tuesday, November 19
On November 19, the St. Charles County Police Department partnered with Chicken ‘n Pickle to host a Giveback Night supporting SOMO athletes in the St. Louis Metro Area. Attendees enjoyed friendly competition with law enforcement and SOMO athletes, delicious food and drinks, and the opportunity to support SOMO programming through donations.
Southwest Area Bowling: Thursday, November 21
The Southwest Area Bowling event was held on November 21 at Enterprise Park Lanes in Springfield. Teams from schools across the region, including Republic, Clever, Ozark, Bolivar, Cabool, Spokane, Marshfield, Houston, Aurora, and Billings, came together to compete and showcase their skills. Great job to everyone who came out and participated!
2024 Awards Banquet: Saturday, November 23
On November 23, SOMO held its 2024 Awards Banquet at the Training for Life Campus in Jefferson City. The event celebrated this year’s Hall of Fame inductees and Area award winners, recognizing their outstanding contributions and achievements. Chiefs Star George Karlaftis Partners with SOMO for #MyCauseMyCleats
