Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events that kicked off the new year!

Southwest Area Basketball: Saturday, January 11

It’s basketball season at Special Olympics Missouri! We saw athletes taking part in basketball tournaments around the state this weekend. On Saturday, January 11, athletes and teams gathered at Nevada High School for the Southwest Area Basketball Tournament. Great job to the athletes who participated!

STL Metro Area Basketball Tournament: Saturday, January 18

The STL Metro Area Basketball Tournament was held on Saturday, January 18, at the Wentzville School District. Teams from across the region came together for a fantastic day of basketball.

Central Area Basketball: Saturday, January 18

More basketball! The Central Area also hosted an array of basketball games this weekend. Shoutout to all the volunteers who helped these events be successful!

Rescheduled KC Metro Area Basketball: Saturday, January 18

The rescheduled KC Metro Area Basketball event took place on Saturday, January 18, at Belton High School. Athletes displayed their dedication and teamwork throughout the day. A big thank you to the volunteers who made this event possible!

North Area Basketball: Saturday, January 18

Northwest Missouri State University’s Bearcat Arena hosted the North Area Basketball Tournament on Saturday, January 18. Great job to all the athletes who participated!

KC Pickleball Series: Sunday, January 19

On Sunday, January 19, the KC Pickleball Series continued with two free skill development sessions at Char Bar Parkville. Each session accommodated up to 24 athletes who improved their pickleball skills in a fun and supportive environment.
