Law Enforcement Torch Run- May 23-26
The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) fundraiser is in full swing leading up to the State Summer Games this coming week. We are so thankful for all the members of law enforcement participating and supporting our SOMO athletes! Check out the 18 LETRs routes that took place this week:

Southwest Area Pickleball Clinic- Tuesday, May 23
This Pickleball Clinic took place from 5:15-6:45 p.m. on Tuesday in Springfield! Thank you to the Nick Hostler Foundation for providing the equipment, snacks and water!
Young Athlete Program- Wednesday, May 24
Special Olympics Young Athletes is an early childhood play program for children with and without intellectual disabilities, ages two to seven. Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills, like running, kicking and throwing. Young Athletes offers families, teachers, caregivers and community members the chance to share the joy of sports with all children.

Challenge Day-Pathfinders (Warrenton)- Thursday, May 25
Challenge Day is a fun-filled day of low-motor activities. Great job to all the athletes that came out and participated in this day program!
Health and Intellectual Disability 101 Training- Thursday, May 25
We hosted a Health and Intellectual Disability training via Zoom at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. We covered topics including the History of Intellectual Disabilities, Health Disparities and Intellectual Disabilities, Accessibility for People with ID and more!
Top Gold Conference- Friday, May 26
SOMO athlete Cade Marian and his dad Doug attended the Top Golf Conference last week. Starting in 2024, Topgolf will be an officially sanctioned event with Special Olympics! We are so excited for this partnership!
Sport Time- Monday, May 29
Fantastic job to all the athletes that joined us at the Training for Life Campus to learn a new sport on Monday!
