SOMO News
SOMO Sum ups Mar. 23rd – Apr. 3rd
St. Louis Metro Area – We were pleased to have the opportunity on April 1st to offer a Challenge Day to our friends at Woodward Elementary School in the St. Louis Public School District. We played a variety of SOMO sports together and loved engaging with these students!

Kansas City Metro Area – The Kansas City Metro was full of energy and impact this week with programs, competition, and community support across the area:
- March 31: Week 11 of Train4Life wrapped up in Grain Valley, continuing to build healthy habits and confidence for our athletes.
- April 1: UMKC Unified Leagues kicked off strong with Bocce and Soccer, showcasing teamwork and inclusion right from the start.

- April 4: Athletes made a splash at Area Swimming, demonstrating skill, determination, and sportsmanship. We were excited to have Senator Joe Nicola show his support for SOMO again this year with his attendance!

- April 4: The community came together for a fundraiser at Howdy Homemade Ice Cream, supporting MO Magic’s Team Bocce and helping fuel future success.

Another great week of training, competition, and community support—thank you to our athletes, coaches, partners, and supporters who make it all possible!
Central Area – Team Missouri recently came together at Camp Barnabas on March 27th and 28th for an unforgettable team bonding experience filled with growth, courage, and connection. Athletes stepped outside their comfort zones by zip lining and rock climbing, building confidence and facing fears head-on while cheering each other on every step of the way. They also tapped into their creativity through spray painting, expressing themselves in a fun and supportive environment. The experience brought the team closer together, strengthening friendships and reinforcing the spirit of unity that defines Team Missouri.

Making a splash for the THIRD year in a row!
Fremont Elementary kept the tradition going strong with their 3rd Annual Peewee Plunge, and these students showed up ready to make a difference!
With 18 awesome plungers, they raised an incredible $475+—proving that every drop counts when it comes to supporting inclusion and opportunity.
From brave jumps to lots of laughs, this crew brought the energy and heart to make the day unforgettable. We love seeing this tradition grow year after year!
Way to go, Fremont Elementary, you’re making waves and changing lives!

What a memorable day at the Southwest Area Local track meet hosted by Marshfield Schools!
Even with a little rain on the track and a few lightning delays slowing us down, spirits never dropped. From running in the rain to hanging out and making the most of every pause, our athletes and volunteers turned it into a day full of fun, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
With 11 teams coming together, the energy was high and the support was even higher. Our student volunteers truly made the day special cheering on every single athlete, celebrating every finish, and showing what inclusion is all about.
Rain or shine, it was a great day for competition, connection, and inclusion. Thank you to everyone who helped make it such a success!
