St. Louis Metro Area – St. Louis Metro proudly sent 51 teams—including Team Skills, 3-on-3, and 5-on-5 squads—to State Basketball this past weekend, showcasing incredible talent, teamwork, and dedication across all levels. It was an exciting opportunity for athletes to compete, represent their community, and celebrate the hard work they’ve put in all season.

Southeast Area – Penny Williams, Development Director and athlete Lisa Berryhill were invited to the Cape Kiwanis Club Meeting to give an area update to their club and discuss future funding.  Thank you, Cape Kiwanis, for their continued support of the athletes in the Southeast Area.

Penny Williams and athlete Jordan Little delivered pizza to Chaffee High School Student Council on Wednesday March 18, 2026.  Chaffee raised $8,077.00 earning the top fundraising team for the Cape Girardeau Polar Plunge.

Kansas City Metro Area – We have a fun opportunity coming up at the Brooksider in Brookside! On April 1st from 5 PM to close, 15% of all sales will be donated to SOMO—making it a great chance to enjoy a night out while giving back. Grab some friends, enjoy great food, and help support a meaningful cause. We hope to see you there!

The NAIA Basketball Clinic took place on Sunday, and it was an absolute blast! Athletes had a great time learning new skills, building confidence, and connecting with others who share their love for the game. We’re incredibly grateful for this partnership and the positive impact it has made on the athletes!

Statewide – Special Olympics hosted its State Basketball tournament this past weekend in Jefferson City, bringing together athletes, coaches, and supporters from across the state for an exciting and competitive event. The weekend showcased the athletes’ hard work, sportsmanship, and love of the game, while continuing the organization’s mission of creating inclusion and opportunity through sports. In addition to the competition, athletes had the opportunity to receive health screenings at Healthy Athletes at the Training for Life Campus, supporting their overall wellness both on and off the court.
