Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events that took place this week!

Team Missouri USA Games Selection Camp: June 22-27

The 2025 Team Missouri Selection Camp wrapped up an incredible week of training, team building, and determination at the Missouri Military Academy. Athletes, Unified partners, and coaches came together to showcase their skills in hopes of earning a spot on Team MO Magic for the 2026 USA Games in Minneapolis. We’re so proud of everyone who gave it their all! The road to 2026 is officially underway!

2025 Summer ALPs: June 27-29

This year’s Athlete Leadership Program (ALPs) session took place during a fun-filled weekend at Missouri Military Academy in Mexico, MO! Athletes participated in leadership classes and social activities all while staying on campus and making new friends. Classes offered this sessions included exciting opportunities to learn about engaged storytelling, exercise science, podcasting and so much more! It was a fantastic opportunity for growth, learning, and empowerment. Great job to everyone who took part in the summer session!

SOMO Night with the Jefferson City Renegades: Friday, June 27

Vivion Field was full of SOMO spirit for SOMO Night with the Jefferson City Renegades! Our athletes enjoyed a night of baseball, community fun, and recognition on the field. Thank you to the Renegades for including us and helping to create lasting memories!

KC Area Pickleball: Saturday, June 28

The KC Area Pickleball event at APEX Sports Hub was full of excitement, competition, and smiles! Athletes brought their A-game and showed off their skills throughout the day. Great job to all who participated and made it such a successful event!

St. Louis Metro Area Pickleball Tournament: Sunday, June 29

Athletes in the St. Louis Metro Area hit the courts at Arch Pickleball & Badminton for a fun and competitive pickleball tournament. From serves to smashes, our athletes brought energy and enthusiasm all day long. Congratulations to all participants on a great tournament!
