Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events that took place this week!

LETR Let’s Get Physical: Saturday, June 21

The Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop I hosted the annual LETR Let’s Get Physical event — a 24-hour fitness challenge supporting the Law Enforcement Torch Run fundraising efforts for Special Olympics Missouri. Participants could complete the challenge solo or in pairs, pushing themselves physically in the name of inclusion and support. Thank you to everyone who participated and helped raise awareness for SOMO!

Jefferson City Renegades Celebrity Game featuring SOMO Athlete, Alex Kirby: Saturday, June 21

SOMO athlete Alex Kirby represented the Jefferson City Stars in the Jefferson City Renegades Celebrity Game! Alex took the field with confidence and pride in a fun-filled game that brought the community together. Great job, Alex! Thanks for showing everyone the spirit of SOMO!

FIFA Kansas City Kickoff with Sporting Brookside: Sunday, June 22

Our SOMO athletes hit the field with heart and hustle at the FIFA Kansas City Kickoff Soccer Clinic, hosted in partnership with Sporting Brookside! Despite the heat, they brought incredible energy and skill to this all-abilities, all-ages event. A huge thank-you to Sporting Brookside for including us in such an exciting celebration as Kansas City prepares to host six FIFA World Cup 26™ matches next summer.

Team Missouri USA Games Selection Camp: Monday, June 23

The journey to the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games officially began with the start of Team Missouri’s Selection Camp at Missouri Military Academy. From June 22–27, athletes, coaches, and Unified partners arrived to showcase their talents, train, and connect with one another as they worked toward earning a spot on Team MO Magic. We’re so proud of all the incredible athletes who are chasing this dream with pride, passion, and perseverance!
