Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events that took place this week!

Gary Brimer Sports Camp: July 17-20

The 2025 Gary Brimer Sports Camp took place at the Training for Life Campus and brought together athletes from across Missouri for four action-packed days of sports and fun. Campers had the opportunity to try out a variety of sports, including volleyball, basketball, flag football, disc golf, tennis, bocce, and a fitness program.

2nd Annual Night of Champions Gala: Friday, July 18

The 2nd Annual Night of Champions Gala, hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Missouri, was a night to remember! Guests enjoyed an elegant evening filled with dinner, live music, games, a silent auction, and inspiring stories from SOMO athletes and coaches. Law enforcement shared heartfelt remarks about their ongoing support for our programs, while athletes spoke about the future of SOMO in Southwest Missouri.

Attendees participated in fun activities like Unified Cornhole, Bowling Pin Ring Toss, a Medal Pull, and a photo booth with athletes. A lively game of Heads or Tails during the program added extra excitement to the night. All proceeds went toward supporting Southwest Area SOMO athletes. Tip-A-Cop Recap

Our 2025 statewide Tip-A-Cop event was a huge success, July 13-19! Officers across the state waited on SOMO supporters to help raise money! Thank you to everyone who supported this annual fundrasier. Your tips support Special Olympics Missouri’s sports training and athletic competition for more than 12,000 individuals with intellectual disabilities in Missouri.
