Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events that took place this week!

SE/STLM Area Softball Tournament: Saturday, July 12

The SE/STLM Area Softball Tournament took place at Shawnee Park Sports Complex, running from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are grateful to have had John Harding and his wife Becky volunteering for the day. We did have a 58 minute lightning delay but all in all it was a successful weekend.

Central/Southwest and KC Metro/North Area Softball Canceled

Due to the overnight rainfall, Central/Southwest and KC Metro/North Area Softball was cancelled.

KC METRO Informational Club Meeting: Monday, July 14

On July 14, Special Olympics Missouri hosted an informational meeting at the new KC Office to introduce four exciting new clubs. From getting active to getting creative, the clubs aim to offer athletes new opportunities to connect and engage. Attendees enjoyed learning about the new programs and sharing ideas for the future. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this launch a success!

Statewide Tip-A-Cop Week: July 13-19

Our Statewide Tip-A-Cop Week for 2025 is July 13-19, with many successful fundraisers already underway! Our Statewide Texas Roadhouse tip-a-cop event was on Tuesday, July 15, 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at most Missouri Area Texas Roadhouse locations. If you can’t make it out, but still want to donate, click here. The Southeast Area total is up to $2,082 thanks to the dedicated supporters and help from our law enforcement.
