Webb City Junior High Night of Unity and National Banner Celebration: Thursday, Feb. 15
The Webb City Junior High Night of Unity and National Banner Celebration brought the community together for an evening of pride and celebration. Despite the rescheduling, excitement filled the air as Webb City Junior High received well-deserved recognition for their dedication and achievements. From inspiring speeches to joyful festivities, the event showcased the unity and spirit of excellence that defines the school. Students, faculty, and community members came together to honor this remarkable accomplishment and to show their support for the future success of Webb City Junior High. Congratulations on this prestigious recognition!
Unified Basketball Tournament at the Training for Life Campus: Thursday, Feb. 15
Special Olympics Missouri hosted a Unified Basketball Tournament and Healthy Athletes event for two schools on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2024. Jefferson City High School, Eldon School District came together to compete. It was a great day!
NIRSA Zou Jam Tournament: Saturday, Feb. 17
ZOU JAM NIRSA Regional Tournament brought together the vibrant spirit of college students and the inspiring determination of Special Olympics athletes for an unforgettable day of Unified basketball competition. Teams fused talent and camaraderie, breaking down barriers and showcasing the power of inclusion. With each dribble and every shot, participants embodied the true essence of sportsmanship and unity. Cheers to a remarkable event that celebrated the boundless possibilities when we play together as one team!
East Basketball Regional Basketball Tournament: Sunday, Feb. 18
The East Regional Basketball Tournament in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, was a day filled with thrilling competition, sportsmanship, and camaraderie
A heartfelt shoutout goes to the Cape Girardeau Kiwanis Club for their dedication in providing nourishing meals throughout the tournament, fueling the athletes for success on and off the court. Special thanks also extend to SEMO Soccer for their invaluable support, contributing to the seamless organization and smooth running of the event.
The Knights of Columbus Councils 11205 and 1111 deserve recognition for their unwavering commitment and generous contributions, which greatly enhanced the overall experience for everyone involved. Last but not least, a big thank you to the Cape Noon Optimist for their continued support and encouragement, helping to create a positive and uplifting atmosphere throughout the tournament.
Together, these organizations exemplify the spirit of community and inclusivity, making the East Regional Basketball Tournament a resounding success and a cherished memory for all who participated.
SOMO Culver’s Fundraiser: Monday, Feb. 19
Join us this evening for fun and giving back at Jefferson City Culver’s as KRCG’s Zach Paul hosts a special fundraiser in support of his Super Plunge challenge! Every dollar raised goes directly to Special Olympics Missouri, making a difference in the lives of athletes across the state. Let’s come together to show our support and gratitude for Zach’s dedication and commitment to this incredible cause. See you there!
