St. Louis Metro Area – Last Wednesday, Missouri Baptist University hosted a Special Olympics Night at their Men’s Basketball game, featuring a halftime game with our athletes and cheerleaders. Sunday, teams from the St. Louis area traveled to Cape Girardeau for the SE Area Invitational Basketball Tournament.

Southwest Area – The Southwest area recently brought the community together for a small local basketball tournament held at Bolivar High School. The event featured student-athletes from neighboring schools competing in a spirited and supportive environment. Throughout the tournament, teams demonstrated not only strong basketball fundamentals and teamwork, but also exceptional sportsmanship. Coaches, families, and community members filled the stands to cheer on the athletes, creating an energetic atmosphere that celebrated both competition and camaraderie.

Building on that momentum, the Southwest area is preparing to host another exciting event this week — a Unified Basketball Tournament at Neosho High School. This tournament will provide another meaningful opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills, build friendships, and represent their schools with pride. Community support is once again expected to play a big role, as spectators gather to celebrate the power of inclusive sports and the positive impact these events have across the region.
North Area – After some winter weather hit, and the original date of basketball was postponed, we were able to get in our North Area Basketball event on Saturday! Thank you to Lafayette High School and Robidoux Middle School for letting us host. Thank you to all the volunteers, as this event wouldn’t be possible without you. Congratulations to all the Athletes and Teams who competed!
