KC Field Day with KPMG: Tuesday, August 6

We had an amazing Field Day with KPMG on Tuesday, August 6! This fun day included kickball, popsicles, prizes, yard games & more! A huge shoutout to the KC Police Athletic League (PAL) for hosting us!

Training for Life Campus (TLC) Weekly Classes and Events: August 6-9

The month of August is going strong with weekly TLC classes and events. It’s not too late to get in on the action! Check out the calendar below to see the fun and engaging activities happening every weekday at the Training for Life Campus in Jefferson City.

KC Metro Lunch & Learn: Wednesday, August 7

Last week the KC Metro Area had another great Lunch & Learn session! This event is a quarterly Zoom where you can connect with the KC Metro area and learn more about SOMO! Whether you are a business, an organization, or an individual who is interested in knowing more, please join us for 30 minutes from 12-12:30 pm. You will get an opportunity to meet a KC Metro Athlete, hear their story, and meet the KC Metro SOMO staff all while you enjoy your lunch! You’ll even have an opportunity to ask questions. We have one more of these quarterly Lunch & Learns in 2024! The last date for this year is November 6, 2024. Click here to view details!

KC Metro/ North Area Golf: Wednesday, August 7

This KC Metro/North Area Golf tournament was hosted on Wednesday, August 7 at Fred Arbanas Golf Course. The event ran from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm and was a huge success! Thank you to everyone who made this event possible.

Athletes attend Cardinals game in Rusty Drewing Automotive Suite: Wednesday, August 7

Thanks to the donation of a suite from SOMO partner Rusty Drewing Automotive, athletes and coaches from our Pony Bird agency in Jefferson County were able to enjoy a beautiful night at the game!

Card Making and Coasters with Coach Sally: Friday, August 9

The KC Metro area hosted a second day of Card Making and Coasters with Coach Sally in preparation for the Picture Me Perfect Art Crawl on October 6th! Thank you to all the athletes who came out and participated. Click here for more details on the Picture Me Perfect Art Crawl.

Central Area Bocce Tournament: Saturday, August 10

The Central Area got in on the Bocce fun this weekend with a Central Area Bocce Tournament at the Training for Life Campus. Our staff worked hard to get these courts set up in preparation for this fun event!

KC Metro Area Bocce: Saturday, August 10

EPIC Center KC hosted this KC Metro Area Bocce tournament last weekend! This was an all-day event from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and the athletes had a blast!

Southwest Area Bocce: Saturday, August 10

This event on Saturday, August 10th, in Mountain Grove, MO, was a big success! Team check-in began promptly at 9:30 AM, followed by the grand Opening Ceremonies at 10:00 AM, which set the stage for an unforgettable tournament. The action kicked off at 10:15 AM, and teams were ready to give their all on the field. The tournament grounds at 700 E State Street, Mountain Grove, MO, were filled with excitement, and it was wonderful to see everyone there! Congratulations to the athletes who competed!

St. Louis Metro Area Golf Tournament: Monday, August 12

The St. Louis Metro Area Golf Tournament on August 12 was a great success! The event ran from 1:30 pm – 7:00 pm at the Innsbrook Golf Course. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen.
