SOMO Sum Ups: April 4-10
Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events from April 4-10, 2023!
STL Metro SSD Track and Field Meet- Wednesday, April 5
This track and field meet was hosted by Special School District at Ladue High School. Amazing job to all the athletes that competed!
KC Metro Volleyball Clinic- Wednesday, April 5
Thank you to Oak Park High School for hosting this KC Metro Volleyball Clinic. This free introductory skills volleyball clinic was a great day of volleyball and fun!
KC Metro Pickleball Clinic- Wednesday, April 5
Last Wednesday was another great day of Pickleball in KC as part of our Pickleball Clinic in collaboration with KC Parks & Rec! This clinic emphasized in foundational skills and takes place Wednesday evenings, 6:30-7:30 p.m. from March 22-April 26.
STL Metro SSD Track and Field Meet- Thursday, April 6
This track and field meet was hosted by Special School District at Lutheran South High School. Fantastic job to all the athletes that competed!
St. Louis Public Schools Local Bowling Tournament- Thursday, April 6
This bowling tournament took place at Bowlero Lakeside Lanes! Thank you to everyone who helped with this tournament and nice job to all bowlers who participated.
KC Metro Young Athletes Program- Friday, April 7
This is a FREE 3-week Program for children with and without intellectual disabilities between the ages of 2-7. Young Athletes introduces basic sport skills like running, kicking, and throwing. The Young Athletes Program offers families, teachers, caregivers, and people from the community the chance to share the joy of sports with all children. Our 3-week Program will occur on the following dates: March 31, April 7, and April 14. Each session will run from 5:30-6:15 p.m.
Southwest Area Powerlifting- Saturday, April 8
This powerlifting event took place at Crossfit Republic this past Saturday. Opening Ceremonies began at 11:45 a.m. and the competition began at noon. The powerlifting events included bench press, deadlift, squats, bench press/deadlift combination, and benchpress/deadlift/squat combination. Fantastic job to all the powerlifters that competed!
STL Metro SSD Bocce Unified Tournament – Monday, April 10
This Bocce Unifed tournament was hosted by Special School District at St. Louis Priory/Viz (Bocce Club on The Hill). Great job to everyone who came out and participated!
