Here’s a look back at all of the amazing Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO) events that took place this week!

KC Squad: Tuesday, April 15

The KC Squad hosted cheer and dance sign-ups at The View in Grandview, MO. Participants of all ages came out to join the vibrant team and learn more about upcoming opportunities to perform and grow as a squad. Click here for information on our next KC Squad!

KC Unified Bocce Intramural with UMKC: Tuesday, April 15

The Unified Bocce Intramural League continued at the UMKC Swinney Recreation Center. Athletes and Unified Partners came together for another exciting evening of friendly competition and connection. Thank you to UMKC for their continued partnership!

Marshfield Southwest Local Track Meet: Wednesday, April 16

Athletes gathered at Marshfield High School for the Southwest Local Track Meet, showcasing their speed, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a fun-filled day of competition. Great job to all the athletes who participated!

Sullivan Unified Local Track Meet: Wednesday, April 16

The Unified track meet at Sullivan High School brought together student athletes and Unified Partners from across the Franklin County area. With perfect weather and high spirits, participants competed and built lasting friendships throughout the day.

Safeguarding Finances – FREE class through Central Bank: Thursday, April 17

Caregivers attended a free virtual class, “Safeguarding Finances: A Caregiver’s Guide to Preventing Scams,” presented by Central Bank. The session provided crucial information and tools to help protect neurodivergent adults from financial exploitation.

RESCHEDULED – SOMO & SOKS Soccer Clinic: Friday, April 18

Athletes and coaches came together for a rescheduled soccer clinic in partnership with Sporting Brookside and Special Olympics Kansas. The event was a huge success, filled with learning, laughter, and skill-building on the field. Thank you to Sporting Brookside for helping make this event possible!
