SOMO Sum Ups Apr. 14th – Apr. 20th
St. Louis Metro Area – After a stormy night, it was a beautiful day for a track meet at Troy Buchanan High School! The Lincoln County School District was a gracious host to schools in Lincoln, Pike and Warren counties. We heard nothing but compliments on this exciting day!


Another beautiful day for track & field in the St. Louis Metro Area, we’re excited to see new programs joining the event in St. Clair! High schools STUCO was a fantastic host, while local law enforcement was out in full force!


Pattonville High School hosted Area Volleyball for the first time this year and athletes were excited to visit this beautiful facility! The men’s volleyball team provided referees and scorekeepers, and Pattonville STUCO ran a fun-filled Victory Village between games!


Central Area – On Friday April 17th, Tim, our Program Director, hosted our Unified Track Meet at Russellville High School. Schools from across Mid Missouri came to compete in this team challenge. It was a great day!

Also, on Friday, Alex attended Rolla Middle School and Jr High Polar Plunge! They raised over $6,500 for Special Olympics Missouri!

On Saturday April 18, we hosted our Area Track Meet in Boonville. Athletes from across the Central Area came out to compete for their chance to attend State Games. It was a cold and windy day, but we persevered and had a successful day!

Kansas City Metro Area – KC Metro had an incredible week packed with competition, community, and celebration!
🌧️ April 13 – Unified Track Meet at Parkville
Rain and mud couldn’t slow us down! The Unified Track Meet was an absolute success, filled with determination, teamwork, and joy. A HUGE thank you to Park University, their ASA group, multiple Park sports teams, and the NAIA ASA group for showing up and showing out for our SOMO community. Your energy and support made the day truly unforgettable. We’re also grateful to the amazing teams and spectators who came ready to compete and cheer—your enthusiasm was inspiring!

🍕 April 13 – Pizza Ranch Fundraiser
The Gladstone Griffins hosted a successful Pizza Ranch fundraiser, bringing the community together to support SOMO through great food and great company.

Another fun night at Pizza Ranch supporting our SOMO Clubs—and we made it extra special by celebrating SOMO Athlete Melody’s birthday! 🎉🎂
🤝 April 16 – Community Impact Club
Our Community Impact Club began an exciting new journey by volunteering at Flourish Furniture Bank. This meaningful partnership will continue every Thursday as our athletes give back and make a difference in the community.


🍉 April 18 – Get Transparent with Down Syndrome Event
KC Metro joined the fun at Transparent Brewery Co. for the Get Transparent with Down Syndrome event. Shoutout to Katie and John for bravely competing in the watermelon‑eating contest—what a highlight!

⚽ April 18 – FIFA World Cup 26 Trophy Tour
Several KC Metro athletes had the unforgettable opportunity to attend the FIFA World Cup 26 Trophy Tour and Fan Mart at the Power & Light District in downtown Kansas City—an exciting and inspiring experience!


🚶♀️ April 19 – Walking Club
The Walking Club is officially back outdoors! Athletes enjoyed a beautiful day walking together at Sunnyside Park, soaking up the sunshine and fresh air.

Southwest Area – The Southwest Area had a busy stretch of athletic events this past weekend and into the coming days.
Last Saturday, athletes competed in the Area Volleyball competition, bringing together teams from across the region for a full day of matches and strong performances.
Looking ahead, the schedule continues to be active. A make-up Area Track Meet has been rescheduled for this Friday and will take place in Clever. This meet gives athletes another opportunity to compete after the original event was postponed, and it’s expected to include a full slate of running and field events.
The weekend wraps up with the Area Swim Meet on Saturday. Swimmers from across the area will gather to compete in various races and relays, continuing what has been a packed and competitive week of activities for Southwest Area athletes.
Overall, it’s a high-energy week with multiple opportunities for students to showcase their skills across volleyball, track and field, and swimming.
Southeast Area – So proud of our Cape crew
T4L keeps leveling up—powered by the amazing support of Be Chosen Friends for the health screenings, and huge thanks to Be Chosen owners Mitch & Kaya for running stations and helping keep everything moving strong.
A big shoutout to Head Coaches Nicole and Megan for launching this new program. 11 athletes crushed week one of fitness with the support of incredible volunteers—and they’re just getting started.

North Area – We have a great event coming up next week!
On April 28th we have a sports clinic hosted by Missouri Western Soccer, Football, and Baseball Team at Spratt Stadium at 6:00pm.
