Polar Plunge

Registration for the 2025 Polar Plunge is officially open! Join us for the COOLEST event of the year and take the plunge into icy cold water alongside participants from all across Missouri. Whether you go solo or organize a team with friends, family, or co-workers, get creative with costumes and help support a great cause. Every dollar raised benefits Special Olympics programming, directly supporting over 12,000 athletes in Missouri. If you can’t take the plunge, you can still contribute by donating, volunteering or showing your support. Don’t miss out on this exciting and impactful event!

Award Ceremony Recap

On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the SOMO community gathered at the Training for Life Campus in Jefferson City to celebrate the 2024 Hall of Fame Class and honor the remarkable contributions of athletes, coaches, volunteers, and families at the Annual Awards Banquet. This inspiring event highlighted the dedication and achievements of individuals who have made a lasting impact on the SOMO mission of promoting inclusion, excellence, and empowerment through sports. Columbia Polar Plunge

Sign up for the 2025 Columbia Polar Plunge and show your bravery by walking, running, or crawling into the frigid winter waters to support Special Olympics Missouri athletes! In 2024, 193 plungers helped raise over $61,500—let’s make 2025 even bigger! This unique event features a fun atmosphere with music, hilarious costumes, and lasting memories for everyone involved. Kansas City Metro Area

Pickleball Clinic Coming Soon
Get ready to join an 8-week Pickleball Clinic in the Kansas City area, starting in January 2025 (dates to be finalized soon). North Area

North and KC Area Christmas Party

Bonne Terre Area Bowling Tournament
The Bonne Terre Area Bowling Tournament is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, at Family Fun Center Bowling Lanes in Bonne Terre, MO. This event promises to be a day of strikes and smiles as athletes compete and showcase their skills. Stay tuned for updates on raffle totals if available!

Cape Independent Swim Team Reboot
After several years, the Cape Independent swim team is making a splash again! Athletes from other agencies are welcome to join this revitalized team for an exciting season ahead.

Young Athletes Programs in Cape Girardeau Schools
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of young athletes programs in all six elementary schools within the Cape Girardeau Public Schools system. This initiative will bring new opportunities for young athletes to engage, grow, and thrive in their communities.

Southwest Area

St. Louis Metro Area

Francis Howell Local Basketball Tournament
The Francis Howell Local Basketball Tournament will take place on December 14 from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Francis Howell North High School. Join us for an exciting day of basketball as athletes showcase their skills and compete in this local event. Come out to support the players and enjoy a great community atmosphere.

TopGolf Competition
