SOMO athletes participate in Kansas City Royals baseball clinic

KANSAS CITY – A group of 15 Special Olympics Missouri athletes made lifelong memories with members of the Kansas City Royals this past Saturday.

These athletes had the opportunity to participate in the Baseball Fantasy Camp for Kids at the Little K, which is just outside of Kauffman Stadium. Royals pitchers Josh Staumont, Taylor Clarke and Scott Barlow led the clinic along with several former players – Jaime Bluma, Tom Burgmeier, Al Fitzmorris and Jamie Quirk. Royals mascot Slugerrr was also there!

SOMO was joined by athletes from Special Olympics Kansas as well. As an added bonus, all of the athletes received custom Kansas City Royals jerseys!
