Officers Take to the Rooftops to Raise Nearly $19,000 for SOMO

The 7th annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser, held on Friday, May 16, raised an impressive $18,739 across 14 participating Dunkin’ locations in Missouri. Law enforcement officers from across the Southeast and St. Louis areas volunteered their time by climbing onto rooftops to help raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Missouri (SOMO).

Cop on a Rooftop is a unique event in partnership with Dunkin’ and the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), a long-standing initiative where officers stand on top of Dunkin’ buildings to connect with community members and collect donations. This year’s fundraiser pushed the program’s cumulative total to more than $102,000 raised for SOMO over its first seven years.

Officers were stationed at locations in Arnold, Ballwin, Bridgeton, Cape Girardeau, Festus, O’Fallon (two sites), Overland, Saint Charles, St. Louis (two sites), Saint Peters, Twin Oaks, and Washington.

The nearly $19,000 raised will directly benefit SOMO’s programming, providing life-changing sports training and competition opportunities for children and adults across the state. The event once again served as a strong reminder of the power of community and the continued impact of the LETR in helping SOMO athletes shine year-round.
