February 5, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
- This event has passed.
Information
This “unbearable” event is a unique opportunity to show your bravery as you support local Special Olympics athletes by walking, running or crawling into the frigid winter waters. In 2021, Cape Girardeau Plunge had 124 plungers and raised nearly $49,000! This one-of-a-kind event promises a fun atmosphere complete with music, funny costumes, and lasting memories for everyone! Participants must be at least 10 years old and raise a minimum of $75 by event day. The Polar Plunge is a project of the Law Enforcement Torch Run(R) for Special Olympics Missouri. Cape Girardeau PD is proud to host this event. Registration beings at noon on February 5 or online at SOMO.org.
NO DIVING IS ALLOWED AT ANY OF OUR PLUNGES! THIS WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
Polar Plunge is a family friendly event. Special Olympics Missouri promotes inclusion as a way of life for not only our athletes but everyone at our events. We reserve the right to ask anyone to alter/remove their costume if found offensive or harmful to those in attendance.
At-home Plunge
If you aren’t comfortable participating in-person, we understand. You can still support local Special Olympics Missouri athletes through our At-home Plunge. Register as an At-home Plunger, raise your money and plunge from home by ‘plunging’ into a kiddie pool, taking an ice cold shower, running through a sprinkler, or creating your own “plunge.” Whatever you do, have fun, be safe and share a video of your At-home Plunge!
