Mid Missouri Special Olympics Basketball practices at the MIzzou Rec Center on Wednesday nights from 5:00 to 7:00.  The first group that practices is one of the unified 3 on 3 team and individual skills from 5:00 to 6:00.    The second group that practices is the  two 3 on 3 teams.  One team is unified and the other team is regulation.  The are practicing to go to state if they win at regionals. (Mid-Mo did make it to State! They were down in Fort Leonard Wood Mar. 16-19)

It's Bowling Tournament Season!
The Central Area athletes are gearing up for this years bowling season which includes four tournaments in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, Fulton, Mo, Whiteman Air Force Base, MO, and Kirksville, MO. 
South Callaway Track Meet
Saturday, September 24th 2016
South Callaway hosted their first Special Olympics event, the South Callaway Local Track Meet. This meet featured two disctricts including the New Bloomfield District as well as the Fulton District. This track meet also included two schools that are brand new to the Special Olympics, Osage R-1 (Chamois) and Osage R-3 (Fatima). After successfully securing all of their own volunteers and hosting their own fundraisers, South Calloway hosted a great first event that even featured a small petting zoo!
Jefferson City Harvest Fest

Governor, Jay Nixon, hosted the annual Harvest Fest at the Governor's Mansion where SOMO employees got the chance to show parents and children our introductory sports equipment including t-ball, Strider bikes, football, soccer, and much more to help educate the community on what SOMO is all about.
