SOMO athletes are gearing up for their own March Madness!  District level play has concluded and 1,400 athletes are practicing for their time on the state level court, March 20 in St. Charles County.  Find out how you can be a fan. 

March 31 Events Statewide Mark Day to "Spread the Word to End the Word."

Wednesday, March 31, thousands of Special Olympics athletes, high school students and their supporters across the state will participate in events to challenge and educate our society about the hurtful use of the word “retard” and encourage others to think before they speak. Students are leading events in nearly every major city designed to solicit pledges from people on www.r-word.org not to use the “R-word.” Read More.  

Volunteers Needed for 2010 State Basketball Championships

The 2010 State Basketball Championships will bring more than 1,400 athletes and coaches to St. Charles County from all over the state March 19-20. We will need volunteers to do everything from set up to keep score to serve meals. If you are interested in volunteering, click here to register. You can find more details about the event here.  

Shop 'n Save "Round Up" Campaign Raises $27,616 for Special Olympics

From late October through the end of December in all 41 stores, Shop 'n Save encouraged their checkers to ask customers to “Round Up” their order to the nearest dollar with the change going to Special Olympics. A check was presented with the funds collected on March 10.
